About VANIA

VANIA is a contemporary jewellery brand based in Auckland, founded by Vania Truchsess in 2017. Each piece is inspired by nature, music, and the changing colours of the seasons, designed to feel effortless, timeless, and a little bit free-spirited.

Where it all began

Vania was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, and grew up surrounded by creativity, storytelling, and culture. From a young age, she was influenced not only by her parents but also by Dionicia, a Wayuu woman who played an important role in her childhood. Watching Dionicia handcraft traditional Wayuu bags sparked something in Vania: a deep appreciation for handmade work, patience, and detail. That early connection is still at the heart of everything she creates today. In 2012, Vania moved to New Zealand, where her journey continued, meeting new people, cultures, and stories that shaped her vision even further.

At VANIA, jewellery is made for the dreamers, the lovers, and those who follow their own path. Every piece is handcrafted in New Zealand using natural gemstones and semi-precious metals, designed to be worn every day and kept for years.
